On the occasion of International Women’s Day, 8 March, Europe Direct at the University of Luxembourg hosted a conference entitled ‘Women working in European and International relations’.  We caught up with the influential women in local and European politics who spoke at the event as well as with representatives from the university and a master’s student who is focusing on women in Luxembourg politics post-1945.  Tonight’s show provides a brief look at how women have shaped and are shaping Luxembourg and the EU!   Speakers at the event were:

Anne Calteux, the Head of Representation in Luxembourg,

Anne Goedert, Luxembourg Ambassador at Large for Ambassador-at-large for Human Rights  at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs .

Astrid Lulling, Luxembourg Member of the European Parliament from 1965 to 1974 and from 1989-2014, Mayor of Schifflange before that

Dr Elena Danescu, Coordinator of Europe Direct at the University of Luxembourg

Prof. Catherine Léglu, Vice-Rector for academic affairs at the University of Luxembourg

Anne Schmidt – a Masters Student at the University of Luxembourg.
