Dear members and dear listeners,
We feel obliged to take a stand on what is happening in Ukraine and the serious crisis we have witnessed in recent weeks. The ongoing conflict has disturbed the minds of many of us because it is animated by unjustified violence, nationalist propaganda and discrimination. These are all elements from which we want to distance ourselves. ARA is an open and peaceful community, which is why we absolutely repudiate the invasion of Ukraine and any act of war that Russia is waging against Ukrainian people.
For many of us, it is difficult to talk about such a situation, having never experienced a conflict. Many others, however, are aware of how bad the consequences of an unjust war could be and testify that these are the moments when we cannot remain silent.
The lives of the Ukrainian people are at great risk right now, and this is not acceptable for us. We know that many people are going through dramatic moments right now, and we feel close to their families and friends. ARA’s mission has always been to give a voice to the least represented communities in the country and to support citizens, newcomers, and refugees.
We invite you to support the associations that, amongst many others, are currently organizing fundraisers, refugees support networks, protest actions in Luxembourg and outside:
- LUkraine asbl
- Host Families UKR/LU
- Croix Rouge Luxembourg
- Caritas Luxembourg
- United Nations Crisis Relief
- People In Need ONG
As independent media, we believe that in such times, we have a greater responsibility towards our listeners and members. We invite you to follow our news updates and our reportages:
