Happy Hour - Hypertension, Long Covid and random acts of kindness!
Tonight, learn about hypertension from an expert – Amela Jusic, PhD and
Postdoctoral Fellow at the Luxembourg Institute of Health’s Cardiovascular Research Unit.
High blood pressure (hypertension) can damage your body before you develop any symptoms. According to the Mayo Clinic, and to my guest tonight, uncontrolled high blood pressure can lead to disability, a poor quality of life, blindness or even a fatal heart attack or stroke.
The good news is that treatment and lifestyle changes can help control high blood pressure and reduce the risk of life-threatening complications.
After hearing from Dr Jusic, we will talk to someone who has Long Covid to raise awareness about this health issue currently affecting 443 people in Luxembourg.
That all sounds a bit heavy – although the discussions are really not! – but we’ll be brightening things up by celebrating Random Acts of Kindness Day too.
