Radio ARA is the independent, non-commercial Radio Station of Luxembourg.

Active since 1992, Radio ARA is the oldest Community Radio in the country

and has always been identified as an alternative in the Luxembourgish media landscape.

The program of Radio ARA is as colourful and diverse

as the opinions, culture and music of the people living in the Grand Duchy.

English Language Radio in Luxembourg

Since 2000, ARA City Radio has been an integral part of Radio ARA’s network, Luxembourg’s only independent radio station. On-air in English, weekdays from 6am to 2pm, ARA City informs and entertains Luxembourg’s ever-growing international community. We bring information to our listeners, but at the same time act as an open mic for involved citizens to inform others. Now we need your support, during the pandemic we gave over the airtime 1pm-20pm for News Bulletins in other languagesi, in this way we support minority communities in Luxembourg. If you can, please consider contributing to our project. Find out more here.

Intrenational Community

Built around a two-show format, we neither take ourselves, nor our listeners too seriously (sorry folks), but rather aim to poke fun at the irony in everyday situations. Our musical taste is primarily indie, but we have an appreciation for good pop and a love of the classics. No presenter is chained to a desk, or a playlist, but is free to choose their own music Рwith the help of the listeners, of course. After 2pm new listeners may get confused by the cacophony of music and languages on offer: this is a reflection of Luxembourg and is courtesy of the Graffiti youth show on the Radio ARA network. Social workers take on the mammoth task of educating and training young people about the responsibility of media in general, and specifically how to make radio. Then at 5pm C̩line opens up the Bistro offering afterwork entertainment and cultural information. From 6.30pm onwards and at weekend the airwaves are taken over by music enthusiasts, who share their music with listeners.
